BrittKids Summer Kids Concerts
Britt Kids Club: Free Summer Music Concerts for Kids in the Rogue Valley
Brittfest has a FREE summer concert program to introduce kids to music, dancing, and the visual arts. It is made for children under age 10 to see live performances from children’s music artists around the country.
The 2024 summer kids concerts will rotate venues. Britt Gardens in Jacksonville, Pear Blossom Park in Medford, Twin Creeks Park in Central Point, Blue Heron Park in Phoenix, and Lithia Park in Ashland will all host free children’s concerts from the Britt Kids Klub.
My family got to attend for the first time last year. It was so much fun, and we are excited to return for fun this year’s Summer concerts for Kids. If you’ve never been, or its been a while, here’s what to expect.
All the concerts start at 10. They last about 60 minutes depending on the performer. The venue locations rotate so be sure to make note of where each concert will be held. Gates open at 9:45. There’s usually plenty of space, but get there early if you like to be close to the stage. And be mindful of the parking situation since not all of these places have a designated lot nearby.
When you arrive, there will be line to check in. The BrittKids Klub hooks you up with stickers, tattoos, coloring sheets, coins to trade for prizes, and wonderful music shaker instruments for your littles to enjoy as they listen-for free.
Find a spot to sit. Most of the venues have a large grassy lawn as seating. Bring a blanket or chairs. We keep this one (aff link) in the car year round. We go to A LOT of events, and its been handy to know we’ve always got a place to sit and have a snack.
We usually pack a little cooler with snacks and water too. As summer heats up, it is smart to bring a stroller fan (aff link), umbrella, or pop up sun shade(aff link). Most of these lawns have limited to no shade so be sure to pack sunscreen and hats.
The music can be loud, especially if your little doesn’t like loud noises or hasn’t been to a kids music concert before. I love that most of these venues are so large you can sit far away and still enjoy the concert. And it is all families attending so no one is going to be concerned if your child needs a minute to adjust. If you are nervous about how your child will respond, grab a set of kids noise cancelling headphones (aff link). Honestly, we keep a pair on hand just because sometimes festivals and parades with motorcycles or bands can be a little too much on top of the excitement-and these headphones make all the difference while watching July 4th fireworks.
The children usually run around and play while we wait for the concert to begin. Once the kids music concert starts, a lot of the children gather in front of the stage to dance, sing, and play together.
